Nevins Inc. serves individuals with developmental disabilities, ages 16 and up, by providing the structure and social tools they need to work and interact in the community. At Nevins, we believe in innovation and vision, integrity and trust, respect for all people, individualism and unlimited potential. We believe all our consumers should engage in their communities however they feel comfortable – by seeking competitive employment, volunteering or utilizing community resources.

Annually, Nevins Inc. supports over 400 consumers, with developmental disabilities such as mental retardation and illness, epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, autism, and learning disabilities in Mecklenburg County.

PROGRAMS OFFERED AT NEVINS INC

 

CAP MR/DD Day Supports Program

is an adult day support program that meets the daytime needs of adults with developmental disabilities, while promoting their dignity and independence by providing assistance with acquisition, improvement and retention of adaptive, socialization and self-help skills. Many of the consumers enrolled in this program engage in community and volunteer activities which promotes community integration.

Supported Employment Services (SE)

assists consumers with developmental and similar disorders with their employment search and job training in the community, as well as, long term support to ensure continuing employment.

Abilities and Possibilities

is an organized service during the day in a community group setting for the purpose of supporting adult’s personal independence, and promoting their social, physical, and emotional well-being. Services include a variety of program activities designed to meet the individual needs and interest of the participant.

Transitioning Teens Afterschool Program

will be an extension of the normal school day by providing a safe, structured and enriching environment for individuals between the ages of 16 and 22 with development disabilities or other impairments.

Senior Supremes Health Program

is a day health program for persons with developmental disabilities and other related impairments that may need extra assistance with toileting, medication and food consumption.

Employment Group

The employment group operates on the hospital schedule and reports directly to the manager of Sterile Processing.

CAET PROGRAM

The Nevins Inc. CAET program is an individualized, one on one service, with one staff member delivering services to one individual for the authorized service units one hundred percent in the community.

Community Assessment and Educational Pathways Program

Community Assessment and Educational Pathways Program also known as CAEPP is a community program for persons with developmental disabilities and other related impairments. The programs will asses the skills, abilities and level of care needed for individuals to fully integrate into the community.
